YDA National Convention Information - Join Us in Dallas!

The Connecticut Young Democrats will be sending delegates to the 2007 YDA National Convention taking place in Dallas, Texas from July 18th – July 21st. This year Connecticut must fill 17 delegate slots in order to maximize our 85 votes at the convention. Delegates must be in Dallas and checked in by Friday, July 20th at 11 p.m. to receive credentials. A full schedule and additional information about the convention can be found at ydadallas.org.

Delegates are selected on a first-come-first-serve basis. Unfortunately due to the high cost of hotel rooms, registration, and airfare, the Connecticut Young Democrats must require all delegates be responsible for their own expenses. We have in the past subsidized a portion of this trip but we cannot guarantee our ability to do so this year.

Delegate positions are available on a first-come-first-serve basis. The only requirements are that you are under 36 and a registered Democrat in Connecticut.

In order to apply to be a delegate, simply email Co-President Lon Seidman at lonseidman@gmail.com with your name and contact information including a cell phone number to reserve your spot. Once you receive a confirmation you will need to register at the YDA Dallas website, ydadallas.org. Delegates are expected to attend all general session meetings and other activities where representation from Connecticut is required.
