A setback for HJ11

Although HJ11 passed the house today, we didn't get the votes we needed to ensure it gets on the ballot in 2008. 3/4s of both chambers are required to get it on the ballot in 2008. The bill will come back to the house in 2009 where a simple majority of both houses is all that is needed to get it on the ballot in 2010.

We are disappointed with those Democrats who did not support the amendment despite our advocacy and equally disappointed with the Republicans including Minority Leader Cafero who switched his vote from yes to no in order to kill it.
